The first image of Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us TV show is here, and it’s very game-accurate. Along with Uncharted and Crash Bandicoot, The Last of Us quickly became one of Naughty Dog’s most popular video games. The PlayStation exclusive title was released back in 2013 and was critically acclaimed, winning multiple Game of the Year awards. The Last of Us Part II was released last year, and while not as well-received as the original, gave gamers a satisfying follow-up focusing on an adult Ellie.

With the popularity of the game, it was only a matter of time before The Last of Us was adapted into a movie or TV show. The decision was made to adapt The Last of Us into a series rather than a movie, with Pedro Pascal playing Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Filming for HBO’s The Last of Us series is currently in full swing, with the pilot episode wrapping at the end of August. This resulted in a few images making their way online, including one of Pascal filming the game’s memorable prologue with Tommy actor Gabriel Luna. Now, a new photo has given an even better look at the upcoming Last of Us adaptation.
